looking ahead to 2007

I’m not one that usually makes New Year’s Resolutions exactly, but I do tend to look at different areas in my life and see if there are some changes that I could make. I guess, in a way, I do make resolutions just not written down and not announced to others! At least this way no one knows when I fail!

Doug has some great things to do as we come to the end of the year and look back on what God has brought for us in 2006. And Pyromaniacs has a great post that will really put perspective on your New Year’s Resolutions. After reading this….I have no problems…and have been truly blessed!!! Thank you LORD for your Amazing Grace!

Fool’s Gold

Just reading a book and thought I’d pass it along…Fool’s Gold, edited by John MacArthur. (You can get the book here from Amazon) MacArthur speaks of the importance of discernment in the church. We can’t just swallow everything that is labeled “Christian.” I was pointed to this book after discussing some unfortunate things occurring around Rick Warren. His “Purpose Driven Life” is reviewed in Chapter 3!

back in the saddle

Well we’ve had an early Christmas vacation around here…or maybe I should say a long Thanksgiving vacation! My husband had quite a few vacation days that he never managed to use this year, so we’ve just been hanging out as a family the last few weeks and relaxing. It has been very nice. I am about done with all my Christmas shopping…but we are a little behind in schooling now!

I’ve been enjoying re-reading the Heart of Wisdom book. I just can’t recommend this book enough! If you are a christian parent you need to read this book. You may decide not to follow her homeschooling methodology, but the foundation of a biblical education in the first ten chapters is just great. At the end of each chapter she has some great recommendations for further reading as well!

I also feel like I’ve been stalking Lisa over at! 🙂 I have been busy reading ALL of her archives in addition to her 2 ebooks that I bought!

I’ll leave you with a good post from Lisa about routine.

Psalm 78:4

We will not hide them from their children, Telling to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, And His strength and His wonderful works that He has done.
